Grocery Story ft. Locally / by Ida Anduyan

Read in White Chicks tone: Let's go (grocery) shopping!

It was a usual hang out date with the boyfriend when I had a sudden thirst for a specific drink. Usually I’d go for some milk tea or my favorite iced caramel macchiato but no, did you ever had those times where you just don’t want to gulp down liquids with thick consistency, even if it was your favorite? Just some light refreshing drink, please? Yeah, this was one of those times.

So off to the grocery store we go. I didn’t want to have to spend more than 100 pesos on a fruit drink in any of the restaurants in High Street when I could get something better for half the price right?

And of course we took some photos, it’s always been on my to-do list to have some grocery shots. I don’t know, I just find beauty in the most mundane city scenes. It’s not for newbies like me though, hard to emote your poses when people look at you like you’re some weirdo, and you never know when a sales assistant will call you out hahaha. Nonetheless, I wanted to share my outfit for that day to you guys too.

What I'm wearing:

Top and bottom set from Runway Spree

Leather Jacket from Bershka

Booties from Zara

Backpack from Louis Vuitton

Back to the drink hunting, I went through the selections and went with the Locally fruit drink. I first tried this during my first Wanderland experience. I was parched, slightly overheated, and a wee bit exhausted from singing along the awesome line up of bands. I perked up when I drank this, it had such a unique taste! I mean, why not, it’s made of fruits you’ll least expect from the usual fruit juices like dalandan, mangosteen, tamarind, and kamias. Frankly, I can’t pick a favorite, each has it’s own distinct and weird-but-good-kind-of-weird-taste. May I add that the flavors are very Filipino too? Like the type of fruits you’d find in your neighbor’s backyard in the province.

All organic, and locally sourced too.

Speaking of local, I’m so happy to see that more and more local brands are producing a lot of really good products. I’ve been taking the time to immerse myself in it too. I’m currently covering ground on skincare, my current cleanser is 100% locally made and it’s making my skin better than ever. I’ve also shown you guys that I’ve been reading up on some local literature too. As for apparel, I have discovered a few lovely brands but have yet to go deep into it. Hopefully soon!

How about you guys? Have you tried out Locally? What’s your go-to drink in your local grocery store? Any local brands you can recommend to me? Also, any stories about grocery store shoot attempts gone wrong? I’d love to hear all about it, let me know in the comments below!
